Welcome to TPR Dog Training
Total Positive Reinforcement Dog Training, Inc.
At TPR Dog Training I do not believe in ‘one size fits all’ dog training. I take a detailed history of your dog’s life from birth (whenever possible) to the present and assess the best approach to meet your training goals. I assess your dog’s personality and temperament type and take into account your dog’s breed or breeds to understand what is going motivate your dog. The key to the most successful positive based training is to know who you are dealing with and what works for them.
I offer a single visit behavior assessment and counseling. If I don’t think I can help you there is no charge. I also offer multi-visit packages. For these we train in your home at the beginning and then proof the behaviors (when appropriate) in higher distraction areas like Bear Creek Dog Park www.bearcreekdogpark.org. Ranked as one of the top ten dog parks in the country.
If you need help with housebreaking, getting your dog to come when called, anxiety or aggression issues or just basic obedience let me know. Did you know that most dogs become teenagers at about six months of age and it lasts until they are around two? I can help you get through it with most of your sanity intact.
I am also the mother of a son on the autism spectrum. He like many others with autistic or developmental disabilities has a special affinity for animals. Hence the Sirius Kids' Connection was born. For more information on that, check out my website at www.Siriuskidsconnection.com or e-mail me at lyakish@netzero.net. I am also involved in training service puppies for the North Star Foundation www.northstardogs.com. You can also get a day to day account of getting a service puppy ready for a child with developmental disabilities check out www.ataleoftwokings.blogspot.com.
If you are interested in my services or would like more information just give me a call at 719-227-1874 or e-mail me at lyakish@netzero.net. I really look forward to hearing from you.
Did you know: 60% of dogs in shelters today are there because of behavior problems? 90% of them could have been fixed if their owners only knew how. Don’t let behavior problems be a death sentence for your dog. Please call me before it comes to that. I’d love an opportunity to meet you and your dog.
Sincerely,
Laurie Yakish, owner
